I have a 2010 fatboy. my previous bike was a 2012 deluxe.
I likedthe deluxe passing lamps and bullet indicators so attempted to set the fatboy up the same. it's been a major drama and I'm not at all happy with it.
I'm told that several parts arent available in black.
see attached.. I want to relocate the indicators but the only option ihave doesnt include bullet style indicators.
does anyone here have any advice for me please? I just want the deluxe setup on the fatboy..it seems a simple thing..
instead I've got this horrible wiring exposed and only an option of the flat style indicators..which in my opinion are ugly.
I do not see the problem, you can powder coat the chrome parts black and where the wires are, under the passing lights there should the indicator go as on the Deluxe. It could need some
fabrication of parts but nothing is impossible, I did stranger and more difficult stuff then this.
Putting the deluxe setup on the Fatboy is a simple thing. The problem is their parts aren't compatible and you'll need to buy the parts for a deluxe and it looks like they should just bolt on to the FatBoy front end... you'll need to buy deluxe mounting bar, turn signal bullets, spot lamps and all attaching hardware..
In this diagram, you can see the spotlight/turn signal mounting bar is different, the spotlight is different. The FB has a bolt from the spot to the turn signal, and the deluxe has the the bullet signal with a bolt up to the spot. Without some customization, you will not get the two different setups to mate togther.
Nothing there that a bit of DIY fabrication couldn't solve imo, I'm sure that I could make it to work with the setup the OP have, it's a pity that we are so far away from each other.
