2017 fls about to replace outer primary my question is do i need to pull floor board and mount or is there enough room i know i need the service manual bit dont have one and cant find anything on u tube
I have an .09 Heritage. When I replaced the stator a few months ago I was able to remove the outer primary cover by removing the floorboard only. I did not have to remove the supporting bracket, if I remember correctly there was just enough wiggle room to make it work but it was tight. And the jiffy stand mounts to that bracket too so if you don't have a lift or jack that could be an issue... Primary cover removed with floorboard support bracket attached

Don't know what you are looking for but pull the board. Takes about 5 minutes.

Just to clarify my reply from last night, if you remove the entire assembly, (support bracket and floorboard), you are removing the jiffy stand as well. So obviously you need a lift or jack to accomplish that. If you remove the floorboard only, you can likely still remove the primary cover and the jiffy stand stays attached to the bike.
Ok more work than i thought couldnt get primary off without removing the floor board bracket which houses the jiffy stand my question is as i dont have the service manual is how much fluid does it need I know still need blacked out derby cover

If you don’t have a lift/jack the long bolt will hit the bracket mount and you will be unable to remove outer cover.
pain in ***... Had no access to my lift one day and I wanted to change my outer cover as well so I found out the hard way. Service manual just states remove shift lever. I tried for anout 15 min and gave up.
I don’t think it’s possible without bike off the ground.
