Default 2009 Crossbones

I think I've found the bike I've always wanted. I'm looking at a 2009 Crossbones. 12K on the odometer, beautiful black paint with the pinstriping and an awesome price in comparison to others I've seen. I'll have it checked out by my Harley shop but are there any problem areas I should be looking for on this year or model before I pay for the inspection that would be a deal breaker? Thanks.

I've been contemplating , should I say " downsizing " from my King to something a bit lighter and easier to handle . The Bones is on my list of bikes that I want , look cool and I've always loved the look of the springer front end . I've never had a problem with the 96ci engine , gives off more than enough power for me , add a stage 1 and a cam and your set . Only thing I would look at would be the compensator , although I've never had a problem with mine , simple routine maintenance does wonders .

Good luck with your purchase , don't forget to post pics of whatever you end up buying .

I love my 09 xbones. And yes that 96" motor is fantastic! They say check the bearings on the front end around 12k miles. Mine has 14k and no issues.

That is an awesome paint job. Love those metallic green flames. Where did you get your bags from? Those look like they'd be perfect on my bike. The bike is on hold till Tuesday when I can get by to pick it up.

You will love the xbones. The bags are from ebay, just search for hard case motorcycle saddle bags. Surprisingly good plaslic but the hinges are a little flimsy. Works or me.

Well, I went and bought it. I pick it up Tues after inspection. Less than 9k out the door price. I will change out the handlebars for something a little lower, add a black exhaust and add some removable hard bags for quick trips to the store. It's also missing the rear turn signals but the seller's got a set he threw in so I've got a service manual and electrical diagnostic manual on the way to put those back on. It's getting the inspection from the HD dealer locally but unless I have to replace the engine at the price I'm getting it for I can't walk away from it. Wish me luck.

Very beauty and impressive paint, but please, remove the tiny bags... the bags are similar for chinese bikes of 125cc.
