I have the 17' style bags on my 03.
Almost every pair I've ever seen, the sides don't
seem to have any support and cave in.
I saw a 16 or 17 at a dealer last summer. It had
some kind of saggybags kit. It had a panel that clipped
over the top & supported the whole panel from the inside (About 8X10").
They didn't know what brand it was because the bike
was a trade in.
Any ideas ?

 

John B, if that's your white Heritage those bags are not off a 17, they're the original bags that came on it. Unless they were swapped out and that isn't a current photo. But you do have a few options.
The Got Saggy Bags kit works well, I opted to use Leather Lids. Both are great kits with great results. There's also the Boss Bags Restoration kit. Hope this helps.

I took that pic before I installed
them. I like the looks of the 17'
bags better, but they really are
garbage. The leather? is paper
thin. I had Ospry bags on my
00 Heritage. If I had the $$,
I'd have a set like that made.

I used the boss bags one on my 99 and it looks awesome!

 

I use Leather Lids, works great, but my bags were old and a bit shrunken so I had to to some cutting of one of the inserts. They have more kits than the ones on their website, just send them an email if you can't find what you are looking for.

 

Any one of the kits mentioned will do the trick. I will say my 05 bags are thick leather, and the kits brought them back to life, I believe there's a post of before and after photos I took when I completed the Leather Lids kit.
