Regular windshields were designed back when the bikes were cruising 50 miles per hour.

I think they suck. Bought a new Heritage Softail in `89 (still ride it) it came with a windshield, I hated it, took it off.

Bought a `16 Road King, came with a windshield, it sucked even worse than the Softail unit.

Now also have a `19 EG Standard, riding behind the bat wing is better than the windshied.

I guess I spent too long in the wind to ever adapt to a windshield, fairing etc...

Maybe I`ll try a Road Glide before I go buy another Road King...

I have a Windvest shield. They work well. I think that with this FXST it will be weather dependent.

I've tried a few windshields over the years. Never found one that didn't make my head vibrate, from buffeting, and give me headaches. Didn't matter what height it was. No biggie for me, though. I don't like the way they look, anyhow. I've done over 180,000 miles with no shield, and apes, in all sorts of weather. Definitely prefer no windshield.

Cheers!

I have rode both with and without, didn't care for the buffeting that came with the OEM shield, installed a 16 inch recurve (Long Ride Shields) and love it.

Default windshield

Long runs put it on. Leave it off around town.

I like the option of with and without a windshield depending on the length of the ride.

H-D shield's alone leave to much to be desired , Changed to a shorter wider recurve Clearview & ''1 tank lift . A huge improvement , As for off in town , Sneeze coming into town and you've already gone through town
