Default Best cornering softail

Hey, I own a 2018 FatBoy114 as well as a 2020 Street Glide CVO. I have a “twisties” question: My street glide holds it’s line great on the twisties; my fat boy is easy to ride, but it just does’t seem to “lock in” at a certain lean angle. Kind of like comparing skiing on a nicely groomed ski run with dry snow vs a run that is icy. I’m presuming this is due to the tire shape on the different bikes. Does anyone have a similar experience, and can you recommend a different softail? I will say that the fat boy is a great looking bike; some of the new softail just don’t look like they are as solid.

Speaking from experience - I had an 18 FB114 and found the same. Many others will disagree with our assessment. I switched back to a Heritage (my 4th) and its night and day. For me, the FB was an emotional purchase - I loved the way it looked but it just didnt agree with me...

Thanks Uncle Kebo! I’ve always heard good things about the Heritage; something to dream about for 2021....

You nailed it: "form over function"
IMO the tire are too wide to give the best handling

Thanks eigheight, yep It is gorgeous; and I’ve spoken with Harley salesman who concur with your explanation., Honestly having bough a fat boy as my first motorcycle three years ago, I really did not even notice the “weirdness” with regards to holding a line in the twisties. It wasn’t until I bought a street glide that I noticed the fat boy’s shortcomings. Geez the street glide is just more fun. I still dig the fat boy for its smaller size, and it’s like a tractor on interstates. Its super windy in Palm Springs in the spring, and the soldi disc wheels are noticeably worse in the wind, but I just relax and it’s ok...just takes some getting used to....

It has been known forever that rear Fat tire Bikes like your new fatboy corner like crap. It is because of the size of the rear tire
