I picked this bike up and I do know it's an 87' soft tail but that's it. Can anyone tell me if it's a standard or deluxe or just what I have. I know it was customized in New York and painted in North Carolina by a fellow named Monty. Any info appreciated!
I don't think they made Standards back in the 80's. I think the Standards came in when they stopped making the Customs around 2000.
The engine is black and chrome and has a 21" front wheel, both were standard features of theolderEVO Softail Customs.
Looks like you got your hands on a bike that someone spent a lot of time and money to makeinto a really nice one of a kind ride. Enjoy, and please try tocan get a few more pics of it up for us to drool over. The older Softail Customs were the first Harleys that really turned me on, probably why I have one today.
Don't have an answer.. but know (of) Monty.. he does good work. Also.. would you mind posting a pic of the back of the bike? I am trying to decide if I want a side mount plate or just leave mine on the bob'd fender...
it looks like a snake of some sort ta me! it does have a solid, i.e. non spoke, rear wheel. i'd go with a sc, but don't know if they were building them yet or not.
