Default sissy bar

For the '07 Deluxe, could someone tell me what do I need to purchase (parts numbers if possible) to attach a quick release sissy bar? I don't necessarily want the pad at this time, just need it to make the luggage carrier more useful. Thanks.

dlrshort, I would steer clear of the one piece detachable sissy bar that is made for the Deluxe. It is a very nice looking piece and it works well, but there is a big problem; none of Harley's luggage racks will fit it. When it is installed, the Deluxe luggage rack barely sticks out behind it and is rendered nearly useless. Also, the stock luggage rack is not compatible with most aftermarket seats. I have an aftermarket seat and the sissy bar and can't usea luggage rack. It's a pain. I wish harley would just make a different rack to match that sissy bar. I'm probably gonna have one fabricated for me.

Spike, i agree with you on the sissy bar/rack problem on the deluxe. I bought the detachable only because i could not find any other good option. I had a sissy bar/rack left over from a VTXi sold and was able to find a welder who was able to cut the rack mounts off and weld it to the detachable. The weld looks great and no need to re-chrome as its made from solid stainless steel. Cost me $100 but now i have a usable system. The only other option was to buy a fold down rack offered by kurakyn, but it looked kind of cheap for me and cost more.

We have the Deluxe detachable sissy bar and pad and it works fine with the t-bags we use which are River Road Classics. They are harder than the normal t-bag.
