Bank angle sensor could be the issue. Try cycling the switch on and off a few times repeatedly.

Bank angle sensor on an 04, don't think so.
I would check fuses. If you change out the battery always disconnect the neg first.

exsporty is on to something, You might be reading tIP. Can you post a pic?
My 08 softail manual mentions TSM as a cause for bike not starting. It does't show the location but does mention that for more trobleshooting refer to the electrical diagnostic manual that I do not have.
Parts manual shows nothing.

Is this what is showing on your speedo?

If so, it's the bank angle sensor that has been tripped. On an '04 Softail, it's part of the Turn Signal Module (TSM) or Turn Signal Security Module (TSSM) if so equipped. It needs to be reset. I've never had it happen personally, but I've read a couple of procedures: one is cycle the ignition on-off-on, then try to start. The other is cycle the ignition 3 times then try to restart. Sometimes it won't start up right away, so give it a few tries.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers!
