Yeah, that's TIP, not EIP.

It's your BAS or tip sensor, whatever you want to call it...

To reset the system, upright the bike, set the "kill" button in the "run" position and cycle the ignition off, on, then off.

I believe it's in the service manual...

A lady hit me at an intersection and knocked me over... bike shut down... I picked it up and tried to start it to get out of traffic... no go... I pushed it to the curb...

I then remembered the tip sensor/bank angle sensor...I performed the above reset and the bike fired right up.

The BAS is part of your TSSM (or TSM)... the bike needs to be upright when cycling the ignition off, on, and off... After doing the procedure, the next time you turn it on, it should be reset. I've read somewhere you need to leave it off for like 15-20 seconds, but that wasn't the case for me... unless it meant after first picking up the bike. Mine did set upright on the jiffy stand for about 15 minutes before I remembered the BAS and did the reset procedure....

If it doesn't reset, make sure your TSSM (or TSM) was not damaged, tweaked, or moved in the fall. If it is not in it's proper orientation to tell when the bike is back upright, it won't reset... Given the circumstances of your "tip over" it seems that damage/movement to the TSSM (or TSM) is unlikely...

It should reset...

I found it in my 2003 Softail service manual.

I had it almost right. I added an extra "off" in the reset, easier than I thought...

If so, it's the bank angle sensor that has been tripped. On an '04 Softail, it's part of the Turn Signal Module (TSM) or Turn Signal Security Module (TSSM) if so equipped. It needs to be reset. I've never had it happen personally, but I've read a couple of procedures: one is cycle the ignition on-off-on, then try to start. The other is cycle the ignition 3 times then try to restart. Sometimes it won't start up right away, so give it a few tries.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers!
Thanks rod.. it’s fixed I found that the TSM was popped out of its location just laying straight up and down telling the Ecm that the bank sensor was tripped .. so I put back in location and waaalaa fired right up! I had to zip ty back to the Original location Thanks again!

Excellent! Is the bracket that hold the TSM broken? I replaced Reaper's TSSM over the winter, and it was in there TIGHT!

Glad you got it sorted out.

Cheers!
