Default trans shifting

I was able to get out on my 05 se fatboy for the first time yesterday. In my first thread I said I didn't think I would be able to do it until Dec.
I could not resist the great weather and I was feeling pretty good. My concern is I had some problems getting into 2nd gear. I did get it in gear but it took some doing. The other gears seemed fine, maybe a little stiff but other than that it was ok. Has anyone had any experence with this problem.will it get better as the bike breaks in or should I be concerned. As of yesterday only 22miles on the bike.

I'd give it a few miles first. Harley transmissions are a little rough and most definitely noisy. It may be something as simple as relocating the shift lever to better fit your boot, etc. I've popped it into neutral a couple times on the way up but usually have no problems at all with the shifting of trans. Glad you were able to get out on the bike. Rides nice, huh?

it should change gears with no problem. take it back to dealer and have them check it.

22 miles on the bike? May be nothing but I would bring to the dealer and have him check it out. A new ride like that should be perfect in every way. Nows the time. Don't wait till good weather is upon you. Ride safe!

My clutch definitely acts differently than my buddies cable clutch in his 15th Annie Fatboy. It's different but ok. I can still feather/slip the clutch etc.
