There are many stations not following that plan, same size nozzles.

Around here in cali probably about the same size... however the Diesel one is GREEN haha.

Sounds like something I would do.
Yeah, drain the diesel out. Put 1/2 gal of gas in (Rinse & Repeat) Fill it with gas n' go.
Can't hurt it.
