Default Heritage Springer vs Heritage Springer Classic

Hey guys. Got me my Springer Classic. I bought it before really realizing the Springer love. To the naked eye I can see the difference between the heritage Springer and the classic...but what else am i missing? How different are these two?

The 1st Softail Springers were more of an FX model
Flip Rr fender, 4.2 gal tanks. 21" frt wheel etc.

As far as I know, the Springer Classic is more like a Heritage.
Full fenders. 16" frt wheel, saddlebags and so on.

Not sure what yr they cut that program off, but the Softail Deluxe
came out soon after. Cost more. Came w/less (Typical Harley)

I bought myself an FXSTS because I already have a 2003 Heritage Classic (non-springer). I really love that FX style springer... But it's hard not to love the Heritage Springers too..... That front end is just a cool look, and feel.. If I had the money & the room, I'd probably have both...

Best I can tell...

HD made the FLSTS/I (Heritage Springer) from 1997 through 2003.....

They then came out with the FLSTSC/I for 2005 & 2006....

The differences to me seem purely cosmetic.. the biggest being, it looks like the FLSTSC had a black springer and the FLSTS (and FXSTS) had a chrome springer..

I really like the Springer saddlebags. The later style w/o the fringe.
Those go for some big coins.
A buddy in San Jose had em on his Deluxe. He had reinforced em,
so the shape was perfect.

Good sh__ !!!

as said above, the heritage springer and springer classic are mecanically the same bike. with some differences
  • chrome verses black
  • saddlebags were standard in the heritage- not as nice bags were an "upgrade" for the classic
  • Windshield stock on the HS, optional on the SC
  • Some small difference, not all parts are drect swap
  • some optional equipment for the HS not available with the SC, although some dealers installed some
    • Cheese grater
    • solo rack
    • 2 up rack
    • passenger grips/backrest

and because we're talking about the best looking bike ever built by harley, here's my '03 FLSTSI. Can be converted back to stock in 1/2 a day (except the SE 96" and 6 speed)
