Standing there looking at the custom, and sure you've done it once or twice. Noticed the rear seat, fender, and the two chromed aluminum rails that are attached to the frame with the torqx bolts. The farthest forward are most important .Start to visualize the pressure exerted on these with a 200lb person on the passenger seatmultiplied bythe distance from them. Anyone else notice this and run the numbers to find what max weight can be safely used in the passenger seat, with a safety factor?

Those are the fender strut covers. The frame extends up behind the first 4 bolts on each side, and there is a metal bracket that reinforces the fender behind the last 2, so it isn't an issue.

On the early Softail models, the frame did not extend up, but the struts were solid steel. I wish they still did it that way, it is much easier for maintenance in the back. Just take out the furthest back of the front 2 bolts and flip the whole fender up.

You are correct. Took a real close look and they are basically bezels down in that area. Agree , since that is the case, no problem at all.
