Unknown part
Happy to join the forum!
I purchased 2nd hand a 2016 FLSTF Fatboy with just below 10k mls.
I am very happy with the bike. It is all standard but for the after market foot pegs. But I got the original floor boards in a box with the bike. In this box there is also one big black metal part, which I am unable to identify. I dont think it belongs to the floor board.
see picture of the unknown part below. Any ideas anybody what this is?

I do a person that would know exactly what it is though...the person that you bought it from. Yup that's who I'd call. Unless he fled the country or went into witness protection there's probably a good chance you can still get in touch with him lol...let us know what he says.

Thanks all so far!
unfortunately the seller doesnt know, because he got all the floorboard parts including this unknown part in a box together with the bike when he bought it from the first owner.
For everything that I know I have original pipes.

It definitely isn't your OEM exhaust mount...
Your OEM exhaust mount is #27 below:

My best guess would be an aftermarket exhaust bracket... Although I'm having hard time picturing how/where it would bolt to the frame
It appears to be the same gauge steel, but is larger in size (longer and wider), than the aftermarket Rinehart and Vance & Hines brackets for my two softails. They are for a dual exhaust and 2-1 exhaust...
If it is an aftermarket exhaust bracket, it may be for the international market only, as some places (England, Australia) have an exhaust actuator module on their systems, that mounts near the exhaust bracket.... That would account for the larger bracket..
Let us know if you figure it out... but I wouldn't worry about it at this point....
Enjoy the new bike...
