Took the Scoot out for a 200 mile round trip, about 30 mins into the ride she started missing again. What are the chances that the TPS has gone out in under 1000 miles.
Same symptoms as before. I checked codes when i got home. P131, P151 AND P152. same codes as before. I have ordered a new TPS and will install in the next few days.
Just wondering if it was a fluk or why the TPS would go out again? 2007 Heritage Softail Classic.
Thanks for all the help, put the new TPS on and she ran like crap for a few miles then straightened up and ran decent.
still throwing the P0151, P0131. Does anyone think I should change out the O2 sensors or look elsewhere? 2007 Heritage softail classic. 17,000 miles.
Check the wiring first. Including the pins/connectors. Have they been pulled on?
Done that all to the good.
unhooked the batter for about 30 mins, and also reset the TPS by turning ignigtion on and off.
started her up she coughed and died after about 20 sec.
started her again, it started and ran rough for about a minute, then died again.
restarted and she purred like a kitten.
Haven't taken it out yet due to a huge rain event. I will Post if its good to go or not when i get a chance to ride her.

Ok so when I bought the bike the gas gage was supper low gas light on but very much close to Empty. When I picked up the bike it was filled up for me. Come home bike starts the missing and coughing. Ended up changing the TPS and then all of a sudden it cleared up, she ran perfect.
FAST forward, last week i ran the bike pretty low maybe 1/2 gallon left in tank, way lower than i have ran it before.
I'm wondering if the filter might have picked up.some trash?
I've already ordered the kit to change everything except the pump itself. I did notice at times (last ride) the pump seems very loud. The parts should be here Monday, would a clogged filter make the bike run lean?
Upon further review, I checked the tank again after I ordered the parts. Definitely some spraying going on in the tank. Almost would call it a mist at times and then big droplets spraying the next time. I hope I'm on the right finally.
You may have the fuel line inside the tank leaking from the hose itself or the connections. Goes from the pump to the exit fitting of the tank.
That would fit the poor and sporadic running you described.
I was just reviewing this is my manual for my bike yesterday.
Good luck.
I think you are right on the money. Could also be a hole in the line or maybe the fuel pressure regulator has a Crack. I'm going to replace everything inside the tank and hope for the best.

Two well known issues with the tank internals....
Pinholes in the internal fuel lines (often fuel pump to filter), and cracks in the regulator housing....
