Default Smoking

I was charging my battery with a trickle charger and I noticed some smoke coming from under the seat. I took of the seat and I seen a blue thing that was smoking pretty badly, the smell of burnt rubber was more than evident. What is this?

Tell us what you are working on.

Why were you charging the battery?

I was started having is start up issues and when I charged the battery those issues went away. A friend that’s owned Haley’s forever told me to put my battery on a trickle charge to keep charged.

You should not have to constantly charge the battery, if you do, you need to determine the cause.

What model and year bike are you working on, and what were the starting problems?

Do you have LEDs on that bike? That looks like a load equalizer for an LED setup. Smoked one on my CVO a few years ago. Replaced it with a better one.

Yes I have LED head lights that oddly enough keep blowing fuses.

Peel the blue wrap off and see what it is. Trace and find what is going on before you burn the garage down.
