Default Back fire through carb

New here I have an 05 heritage that not wanting to crank up without a little throttle and would die out at stops without a little throttle. Now it's gone to hiccuping and back firing through the cab an idea's. I've changed the plugs cleaned the breather, and cleaned the IAC.

Did it just start doing this, and was running fine before....??

Any recent work or mods done....??

Have you inspected the tank/petcock screen lately...??

Has it set for a period of time since last start...??

Just based on your description, I'd say check the carb jets for blockage/dirt/debris.... I'd at least pull the bowl with the carb still on the bike and inspect what it looks like in there... spray a little carb cleaner up through the jets...

Good luck with your diagnosis and repair...

Check the plug wires. Make sure they are firmly attached to both the coil and spark plugs.

To add to what Mr. Hatitude suggested - Drain the float bowl and see if there is any water in the fuel. Sounds a lot like a restricted pilot jet or water in the fuel.

Well, that changes things... I guess I misunderstood the "cab" you stated and thought you miss-printed "Carb". Sorry.

Common fuel pressure issue- the hose from the check valve to the regulator developes pin holes, leaking pressure inside the tank. Time to replace the check valve, and the filter, while you're in there.
