Default Softail ignition switch wiring

Hi all! I have inherited a soft tail project from my boss at work. I went to give it some power and got nothing so I check the ignition switch wiring and a couple of the wires had been unplugged. Not sure which wires are supposed to go where and what I am missing. Any help would be great!

You didn't say the year, but that looks like an '80s-'90s EVO console and ignition switch..

Since it's a project, you may want to get a service manual for it... I have a schematic for the ignition switch in my '89 service manual, but it would be too small to read if I tried to post it here...

Here is a thread about EVO ignition switch wiring that may help:

I would suggest verifying the wiring diagram for your specific model/year...

PS- there look to be some wires that were exposed to some heat... You may want to verify the integrity of the wire insulation

Whew....Someone has been in there doing stuff. An electrical schematic is going to be your best friend! As suggested - get a manual, a factory one would be the best, but any manual is better than no manual.

Not a bad looking bike at all, pretty sharp!

Cool

Yikes! All red wires! lol! What is there looks homemade and cobbled with household/automotive electrical connectors. You're going to have a serious project on your hands figuring out what is what? Most of what is wrong with used bikes is being able to un-**** the PO's misdeeds. Looks like they were f-ing with the relay circuits. Depending on the extent of it all, you may want to seriously consider dropping in a completely new wiring harness for reliability's sake. There are plenty of threads on this... Good luck!

I have three important nuggets of advice.
1) Solder everything...even the ends of wires before you crimp
2) Know your limitations and defer to serious professionals when necessary.
3) Take the advice you get from strangers on a forum with a grain of salt. Search out truly experienced individuals in such matters. Ask me how I know.

Sorry for not getting back to all, Ive been on and off working on this. I was able to get power to the headlight but nothing to the turn signals or start switch, there are 3 cut wires that I have to figure out where they should be going to. But definitely rounding a corner

You'll have to figure out the colors, all yours are red.

In the picture with the circled pole, I believe it is hooked up wrong as it has power constant no matter switch position. Also attached are the three cut wires Ive found not sure where they are supposed to go

The circled wire is from the load side of the 30amp main on the splashguard from the battery.
The white/green is you canceling wire from the turn signal module to the speedometer.
You need a wiring schematic for your bike.
