Default Clutch cable

Coming home earlier as I pulled in the clutch, the cable seemed to slip and would barely engage the clutch. As I pulled into my driveway the bike would still want to go even though I had the clutch lever pulled in all the way. So I adjusted the cable and it seems to be fine now. However I'm thinking maybe a few strands of the cable broke and it's only a matter of time till the whole thing breaks. I think I should replace the cable to be sure, what do yall think? It's a 2013 Heritage with 20k miles.

I don't know much, but think I'd start by adjusting the clutch first.
Then the cable

At the hand lever the cable was frayed and only hanging on by 2 little strands. Lucky I made it home. I replaced the cable today. Thanks for the replies!

Riding with a broken clutch cable is a handful - literally! Good job - fix that bad boy up.
