Are there any pro or cons to just doing the back?

i posted this in a similar topic earlier. i have to put some pics up. the one below is when i got her in jan of this year.

well i lowered my 02 with the burnout kit. i have a combined weight 0f 360. i turned the pre-load on the shocks 2 1/2 turns and have had no bottoming out issues at all while riding 2-up.
i do however have to be more carefull when i turn. i have hit my floor boards and pipes while turning but u will only do this once or twice, as u learn quickly what the new limits are. i did this back in early spring and i haven't scraped it over 3 months.

for me its worth being carefull and going slower while turning, not because of how cool it looks now.thats a given, but b/c i'm only 5'6" and it needed to be lowered. i believe i lowered it 1.5"
hope this helps.

Remember also, once you lower your bike, the suspension will not take the road bumps as it once did. I obviously lowered mine for looks, not functionality. But when I hit big bumps in the road, I bounce up like you would expect from a rigid. I dont have a soft, cushy seat either, so some bumps can be bit uncomfortable on the body. I have very little travel now, just enough to ensure I dont bottom out on the big bumps. This may not be the case if you lower your bike less than I did, but make sure you take this into account.

Thanks Night Stalker. I wouldn't want to lower the rear only. Front and rear.
Wish we had a picture.

Marsh... below is a picture of Volkdeluxe's Heritage.... he recently lowered his front and rear... he actually slammed it down all the way.. it looks awesome... I have been reading your threads of how you like the deluxe look, and your bike is looking really good without the bags and solo seat and all.. i like what you are doing... I really like the deluxe as well.. and Volkdeluxe's heritage is so sweet i would take it over a deluxe... good luck...

Thanks Hooligan. Please believe me when I say I'm not copying Volksdeluxe, but white walls are the next big money I will spend. I just think they look great on this style bike.

Thanks Hooligan...

Like board, I also lowered mine for looks. I used the arlen ness kit also and I think it worked great. Ride does suffer, especially going as low as I have, but it is something you have to live with unless you go with a more expensive set up. If you want looks and a good ride you will have to spend $$$, but for the most part it can be done.

That truely is fine looking Volks. How much did you lower it. Did you do the install yourself. I have a guy that can do it but it will prolly cost several hundred in labor, plus I think the kit is around $180???

I didn't do the install since I have a buddy that done it for pretty cheap. I'm not sure the exact height, but around 2-1/2, the kit said it doens't lower that far, but it does. Kit is 180, but search ebay, I seen a complete kit go for cheap right after I bought mine.
