Default Security system 2011 heritage

Second question in last couple of days relating to start issues. I have new motorcycle battery , new fob battery . All electronics seem to working except Starter . Thanks to some good advice here I have done some of my own diagnostics rather than hand blank check over to Dealer It looks like factory security system is not working I can't input pin ,or retrieve pin both of which i have done in past. On a 2011 heritage canbus is there a security module to look for or does it run of ecm.

The security is part of the BCM module....

There is the #41000348G Module, Body Control, Y-Axis, Base (replaces #69991-11) or the #41000349G Module, Security Control, Y-Axis, 434MHZ. You obviously want the second BCM for a security system.

They cost $429.65 but show, "Sorry, this item not available for online purchase. Connect with your dealer to discuss your options"... that sometimes means a discontinued part.

Best to contact a dealer for your options.

Good luck with your repair, report back what happens...

NOTE: The BCM, not to be confused with the ECM, is #16 in the below parts diagram. It lists two numbers for the BCM as mentioned above.

After more poking around I was able to see Diagnostic code error from the speedometer display, It says b 2121 code seems to relay to starter output open / bcm malfunction . Still cant get into any security functions pin etc, on a side note should my powervision not have been able to see those codes.

Maybe not if the way it communicates with the ECM / BCM is different to the way the speedo does and you really do have a faulty BCM.

You have what you first describe as an issue with the connection from the BCM to the starter and then you start on about the security system.

With the FOB present can you turn on the ignition and put run/stop switch to run and have the bike power up; lights and other stuff?

Fuel pump primes everything works lights etc, zero sound from starter no clicking. The only other issue that i noticed is the instrument cluster display will not allow me to access Pin number input or retrieval in security system which is run from bcm in canbus system I believe

There is a small wire that connects to the solenoid from the BCM. Check that is connected.

You could check the wire isn't broken from there to the BCM plug.

With a voltmeter you can measure on that wire to ground and should see 12 volts when you press start button.

You could get a piece of wire with a similar connector and connect the solenoid direct to the battery positive terminal.
