I am having trouble with my Rocker front end diving into tight, slow speed turns. I really have to to fight to keep the forks from jack knifing on me. I have adjusted the fall to the correct allowance but am still feeling it. Any ideas on causes and remedies?
Nature of the beast. Look at the rake on those forks. Rocker rake is about 37 degrees, compared with about 30 on a standard soft-tail. Run chopper steering geometry, get chopper steering. Ya gotta learn to live with it.
Congratulations on your first post to HDF,
to the Forum!
1. Do you have extended fork legs on your bike? If so that will contribute to the flop.
2. Those handlebars will contribute also as they do not allow control at low speed like factory/wider handle bar configurations.
3. Because the handlebar rise & narrow, they will act like a torsion bar and have some give to them when torque is applied when turning at low speed.
4. Looks good but sometimes looking good does not pertain to handling of the motorcycle.
Welcome to the forum... Its all in the geometry. You have a huge rake then compound it with the bars and the skinny front rim just adds to it. This is a learn to love it situation..
