Default Fuel pump flow numbers

I have a 2001 Softail Deuce injected,I'm wanting to replace the fuel pump but I'm not sure what the flow rate is! I'm purchasing on line and can't afford any glitches! If someone can tell me where to find that information or someone knows it off the top of their head,it would be appreciated! Just don't want to have deal with the wrong part being shipped thank you in advance

I know the Delphi EFI system runs between 58-62psi. The older MM EFI was 40-42psi.

I just checked a Quantum fuel pump online and it shows "145LPH @ 40psi, 119LPH @ 60 psi" for a replacement HD fuel pump.

I have read good reports on Quantum Fuel Systems replacement pumps.

Good luck with your repair.

Quantum was the one that came with the "kit" I bought when doing the fuel lines and filters on my bike. I did not use the pump and just kept the OEM on my bike. But I did power the pump to check it and it seems to be fine and quiet operation. It is a China-marked pump just so you know.

Ty sir,I'm wondering if I should go with a bigger capacity fuel pump I have put a set of S& S 510s with the gear drive,I've been having problems with popping, and seems like loss of power,at about 60 ior 65 mph,! I have a tuner hooked up,but the bike has always run a little lean! If I go for a higher flow pump if it would help with the popping,! Sorry to put this out but it's driving me nuts! I replaced the fuel pump ,filter, regulator, all new lines,it ran great for awhile, then the popping, and the hesitation at 69 to 65 started! I installed new plugs, and wires about 2 months ago! Problem still exsists the tuner is a Cobra power pack black ,FYI! It works well except I can't figure out why the popping? Maybe I should start another thread ,I haven't been on here a lot so forgive me if I'm wrong! Anyone's help, suggestions would be appreciated

As I mentioned above, I'm running the Quantum pump on my turbocharged 96". It's made over 200hp/200ft-lbs on race gas. Unless you are planning to make more than that kind of power, I'd say the stock pump or a Quantum, is sufficient.

It could be possible that you did not get the plastic fuel lines in the tank clamps to stay sealed. Maybe a small leak developed? Just a thought for you.
I know I was pretty concerned when I did mine and safety wired all four clamp points in addition to the crimp clamps.

As WS6_Keith said, you have plenty of fuel flow.

MarlinSpike also offered a couple possible causes.....

You mentioned adding S&S 510 cams before the popping & power loss.... You didn't mention how you addressed the tune after adding the cams. What have you done for a tune?

Decel popping, if the bike is mechanically sound (no exhaust or intake leaks) is most often the tune. A power loss somewhere in the rpm band can also be attributed to the tune.

We'd need more info about your mods & tune to give any better suggestions for your issues.

i have s&s 510 cams with gear drive,After market free flow air filter, V& H Short shots, with a Cobra power pro black tuner! The bike runs fine up to 60 or 65 that's when it starts sputtering,& as I roll on the throttle it will clear up,but when I let off the throttle and try to excelorate it sputters again! I've had this problem for quite some time,it's to the point that I don't even want to ride it! I pour new plugs,& wires a couple of months ago! No change at all! It feels like and I think it's not getting a steady flow of fuel, it has power in 1st & 2 nd & 3rdthats when it starts usually I'm doing 60 or so shifting into 4th ,after it happens I'll continue on with the throttle and it runs right ,let off it does the same thing! It's getting fire,it's gotta be something with fuel sending unit, only thing I can think! All grounds are tight! Cables tight battery is good! Tuner or fuel related?? I plan on changing the fuel sending units, with all new lines, but that will be a couple of weeks away yet! It's a pain in my --- rn! As with most everything money is the issue + these dealers in OKC won't work on older stuff! So with my infinite wisdom,do all my own stuff! Ya know you try everything you should do but it's not helping, sometimes it's not fun biking! This issue has me second guessing everything. I do! One thing positive out of all this,is that I'm learning everything about this bike! I wanted more HP and the camshaft tensioners as we all know aren't good,so I decided to change to a gear drive with all S&S parts, everything came with the kit! Rn I'm wishing I'd just left it alone,& went back stock cams. Thanks for all of y'all's input! I've been a member for a short time here, have had questions that I posted here and the advice is alway solid.
