Default fork oil drain plugs can be reused????

04 Deuce
Going to grab a qt of 15wt fork oil now

Manual says "one time use" for the drain hole screws.
will the world as we know it end if I reuse the screws and washers?

If one of them falls out it might...

I don`t second guess the manufacturer, if the book says replace, that is what I do.

At $8 or $10 a piece perhaps? Yes the world would end!

I've (obviously,) have always reused fork drain plugs since forever. (Be careful to protect the screwdriver slots, I have used a small hand impact to break them loose cleanly.)

Nosir, it won't.
But it might put a hitch in my plans if I have to order them

I appreciate and respect that, Dan
But I'm not always a "by the book" kind of guy.
I'm still using the same O-ring for the last 4 oil changes
and don't tell my friends, but I've reused the derby cover gasket without mishap too

I've reused them if they come out cleanly. But I think the James seal kit I used back then had new washers in it. But that's been a good while ago, so my memory may be wrong.

I happen to have a small one too.
I use it for gun smithing (in particular removing 1911 grip screw bushings)

That is why you make sure you have all the stuff you need ahead of time, a 34 year old Softail has taught me that.
