On my last maintenance I used new o-rings and a bit of teflon on the drain plugs before filling my 00 Heritage. Speaking to an old racer buddy later he recommended Hylomar Blue as a thread sealer in high temp plugs. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this product. Called them in Texas for info but no answer
Thanks...

I have used it over the years in a number of applications when needed .
It was a bit pricey to use in all things.
Never bothered to use on a good drain plug or pan.
Unless you have a leak problem you did just fine.
Love Hylomar, been my go to on the old bikes for decades. Makes a great thread sealer that's easy removal and cleanup. O-ring seals like drain plugs just a dab is fine.
Just an FYI the original Hylomar was designed to use on mating surfaces on WW2 Merlin aircraft engines.

Hylomar works good. Might be overkill for drain plugs though. i just use a dab of common Permatex hard-setting gasket sealer. Acts as a mild threadlocker as well as a sealant. Not that a sealant is needed if you fit a new o-ring or copper washer etc, but I like the thread locking on a high-vibration environment like a Harley.

Side note ... My father worked in the Packard plant during the war ... He tried to enlist but had physical problems
