Default Wheels

I am wanting to ditch my spoke wheels and get something I can go tubeless. Checking prices at bike week seems outrageous. Anyone got any suggestions on some wheels that are more affordable. I was quoted anywhere from 3 to 4k+. Ouch!!
Looking for wheels for17 Heritage.

Unless you buy used of eBay...

A new, quality aftermarket wheel will cost you around $1400 and up......

However, if you wanted to use an OEM HD wheel, if you can find one to fit, a new wheel will cost you $650 and up...

As you've discovered, bike week events are probably not the best place for bargain shoppers. Thousands of out of town bikers roll in with pockets full of cash for a weeklong good time. Vendors are looking to get their share of that cash. It's the American way.
I put RC Components wheels on my 2002 Fat Boy way back in 2005 or so. They ran about $950 a wheel way back then even with a price break from a friend who owned an indie shop. They would have been nearer $1100 per.

I put HD turbine wheels on my street glide. It cost me about $1800 per axle including tires, bearings and matching rotors (front). Ebay has a lot of used wheels and I have found several independents that purchase new HD take-offs and resaile them on Craigslist. Facebook has some occasionaly. If you know what you want, have part numbers and are patient, you can find what you're looking for.
Good luck

You know you can tape the wheels to seal then and then run without a tube?

For example:
