First time a tank comes off one of my bikes, it gets the quick disconnect. Makes tank removal in the future much, much easier.
I like to torture myself so I leave them in the stock location. Out front would be easier, but not a fan of the look. Had it that way on my Shovel, put it back. But I 100% agree it makes maintenance easier. Good luck.

I made it work on my 1997 Wide Glide, but it is a royal PITA every time I take the tank off. Still glad the disconnect is there but always a thing. But I have an Evo, so maybe there is a little bit more room above the rocker box.

Here at the Department of Overthink we prefer to overthink things. I didn't like the way the hose bent around the frame so I installed a 90-degree barbed brass fitting on each side. That enabled me to have a much smoother routing around the front of the frame. I have some extra hose in my loop right now so it looks a little ridiculous. I'm going to trim it up and install a QD next time I need to take the tank off. Which may be kinda soon, unfortunately ...
