Default Full Backrest ?

I was wondering who has a full backrest on thier softail. I have been whacked in the back a few times with my current low seat rail and backrest setup. Doc says I need a better backrest....

Has anyone hadan issue with the full backrest?

What do you mean by a full backrest? Just the taller one that bolts onto the seat rail or a tall backrest like a passenger sissy bar would have? I'll have the taller one bolted on when we come up to Mammoth in a couple of weeks.

i was also wondering what you meant by full backrest. i just purchased a backrest from firehousecustoms (heritage classic). only had it a few days so not much hard riding but so far feels pretty good. leaving in the morning for colorado so i'm sure it will get a good workout over the next 8 - 9 days. seems comfortable so far. it extends about half way up my back - maybe a little higher. i attached a small pillow to it for a little more contoured fit.

the bike in your sig line looks like it has a good full backrest. is that the one you want to replace? what's wrong with it?
good luck,
gw

Have a Firehouse customs backrest and wouldn't ride without it. It can only be used with the stock seat and pillion and moves you forward and inch or two. Costs @ $115 and is not adjustable.

I have the Mustang wide studded with the rider backrest. It's adjustable and I love it.

Gotta second the Mustang seat with backrest. It's by far the most comfortable seat I've ever had. On long trips you can just lean back and let the backrest do all the work. The Mustang wide vinage also has a big surface sitting area and that makes for a nice ride on long trips too.
