Default Backrest

I'd like to install a folding backrest on my '99 FLHTCUI. If I could find a Folding backrest it would be great for my back and be alot easier for my wife to get on and off. So far everything I have looked at seems to be stationary. I have the pillow type seat and would like one to match, preferably harley brand. Does anyone ealse have one on thier bike ? Part number ?

All of Harley's backrests fold. I have the standard backrest and really like it.

I used this backrest. 52914-98 It is good sized and my wife loves having it. She says it makes her nice and safe beltween the two backrests.

If you have a larger dealer in your area you should go to them and look at the different ones, there are a number of different sizes. Some also have pockets on the back and they are matched to the different seat types.

Here is another cheer for the backrest. I've got the bulky adjustable one from HD. I would say mine is to fat for a large passenger to be comfortable. Something to consider.

If you have buddies with back rests you might try a few of them before you buy. I tried it that way and found several I did not like. The back rest still took awhile to get used to. I had never had one on my other bikes but they were all dynas!!!!

I just put a stock Harley, pillow style backrest on mine and did real close to 500 miles last weekend.IMHO it is priceless. It was easy to install and can be removed w/ no tools in a few seconds. I won't be without out it on any rides over 50 miles. Hope this helps--OD

I have the comfort stitch adjustable on my Ultra but it's a little too wide when my wife is on there with me. It's ok solo. Mustang make a folding backrest that lays completly flat.

Go for the backrest, I love mine. It makes for a more comfy ride and more relaxed.

Mountainkowboy, I see you have highway pegs, are they short or long angle ? Any problem rubbing your feet on the lowers?
