Default Which Backrest?

Does anyone have one on their trike; which one is best? I have a 2012 that I just bought in November and I think a backrest would help me on long rides but I don't know which one would be best. Any ideas and how easy are they to install, etc.

If you have a Harley seat, you will probably need a Harley backrest. I have a couple of them, they work just fine.

what they said ^^^^^^ HD adjustable backrest, two parts...adjustable bracket and separate backrest. works really well. then I supplemented the backrest w/a Bone Mountain cover for the wife so she could have someplace to keep items she wanted to have at her reach. nice addition if you ride two up!

The Mustang backrest will also fit. The pad design of the leather matches the tourpak backrest.

How is the stock seat for long rides?
Myself, afraid to buy a HD backrest until I find out if the seat is any better than my previous bike's stock seats..
From Delta's post, the backrest will work with a Mustang.
Maybe others as well?

The Mustang back rest will fold flat with the seat making it easier for the passenger to mount. I had to slot 2 of the holes to get it to fit. 2013 Tri glide

For me, the stock seat is awful after an hour. Since my rear end is very large and firm....the seat starts to make me hurt after a while and I need to get off to stretch. I would love to own a Russell Day Long seat, they are made for each rider with actual springs in the seat.

I have an airhawk on my stock seat. I did NOT find the stock seat comfortable after a couple of hours.

I have the old style (discontinued) HD backrest that is flat, these new ones that have a curve to them are very uncomfortable to me.

As others have said, stock seat is only good for short rides. After that it feels like you are sitting on the frame. I bought a Corbin from a friend and I really like it. I found a Corbin backrest in the classifieds here on the Forum.
