I tried to like the stock seat this time around, but after a 500 mile trip to Laughlin in April I went staright to the Corbin tent and got a dual tour with rider backrest. Needless to say, the ride home was a dream.
We had factory backrests on the Limited and the Tri, and they were fine, the seats just didn't cut it for real touring. Okay for 100 miles, but after that they just hurt. So if you are alright with the stock seat, the stock backrest will only make it better.
I have the stock seat and I can't say that I love it but I'm not sure I would love any seat on a MC after a period of time. I do alot of long distance touring and the stock seat fills the bill.

Air Zeppelin for me... the stock seat is like sitting on a 2x4. Have the Harley backrest, hydraulic adjustment like everyone else.
Was that seat on the TG when I rode it? If it was, it WAS more comfortable. I didn't say anything cause it looked just like the stock. Plus I was too occupied in not wrecking your trike. Or if it wasn't, your seat is more comfortable than mine.
Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm going to have to change it because I've found out I can only ride a few hours before it starts to bother me; I'll check out Air Zeppelin... Thanks...

While you look at the Zeppelin, also take a look at the Hammock. Both at Harley. It also is air controlled, but it is a lower slung seat, & gives you a better ridding in the seat & not on the seat.
I have the Zeppelin, & love the ride, but it raised me up almost 2".(without the air in).
Worth the look, and if you can a ride test! Chesters Harley down there usually has something to help ya with.

I like the Mustang and the Wife has the Stock HD adjustable on the Tri Glide. Both will fit the stock seat. The bracket bolts to the frame / fender under the seat and the backrest sticks up through the seat slot. One thing I liked about the Mustang is the pad is much thinner. More than adequate for the driver but being thinner the passenger has more room if the passenger on back is of "adult" size. It made a big difference to us.

Thanks for the info...will try out the Hammock this weekend. I thought my stock seat was fine until I went on a 5500 trip out west. It felt like sitting on a piece of channel iron on the way home...took my butt two weeks to heal!
