Default Looking for a windshield

Good Morning,
I have a 2014 heritage that I'm going through as a project. It's a nice and came with the mounts for a windshield but no windshield. I'd like to get one.
A friend of mine gave me their windshield from a 2000 road king but the mounts did not line up. I was surprised as I thought they were fairly universal...
I like the stock harley windshield and my question is - what models would have come with a windshield that would fit my bike? The issue is the distance between the mount holes vertically needs to be about 7.5 inches.
Any info would be great. thanks

I've owned several Softails, but no Road Kings.

I know the Road King has a big nacelle over the headlight, so I wouldn't expect a Road King Windshield to fit a Softail... There may be triple tree differences too, I don't know.

Lacking personal experience with this issue, I looked up replacement windshields on a well known aftermarket windshield web site, Memphis Shades.

They show the dimensions of a '90-'17 Heritage replacement windshield, and a (no date) Road King replacement windshield. The distances between all the mount holes appears to be the same. The distance between the mounting brackets is 8.75" and 9.25" respectively, because the vertical mounting brackets are different.

The '14 Heritage uses #57062-00A/ right side & #56063-00A/ left side. Both parts show available from HD for $84.93 each

The '00 Road King uses #58084-94/ right side & #58088-94/ left side

For your Heritage, you will need to find a windshield from/for between a 2000-2017 Heritage to have it fit your bike, per Memphis Shades. Or, you could buy the 2014 Heritage verticle mounting brackets, add them to the windshield & cross braces you have, and you should be set (albeit different windshield heights).

I believe I got all this info correct, but double check my research before spending any money.

Good luck with your project...

I found an amazing deal on ebay. I remember paying about $150 for my Deluxe windshield in 1914 at the Harley dealership.

WOW, you're old... and rich!!!

That was a lot of money back in 1914.....

Seriously though,

Apples to oranges. You got an actual HD Windshield.

That eBay windshield IS NOT a Harley windshield like you bought... It's a repop = dubious quality..

Make ........ "For Harley-Davidson"

Manufacturer Part Number...... "PRI11100"

Quote from description:
"Please Note: assembling hardware is included, BUT the mounting hardware that attach the windshield to the motorcycle is NOT included."

The seller wouldn't list the actual manufacturer = red flag

That's definitely not a Harley part number...

It doesn't even come with the proper mounting brackets... You wouldn't be able to mount it without purchasing the brackets I mentioned in my other post. That's another $167.86 on top of the eBay purchase..

You actually got a much better deal.... maybe not in 1914, but a good deal in today's money

Unless you can find a decent one on Marketplace or the Bay, this is your best bet. These are quality shields; I have their replacement shield on my 05.

I'm just curious, do they supply the mounting brackets too, or just the windshield hardware (ie: horizontal & vertical braces)?

@hattitude Yes, that price shown is including their "Trigger Lock" mounting kit, you can also buy just a replacement if you already have the OEM mounting hardware.

In the image you've shown, the only difference in the shield is that the headlight cutout is larger for the Nacelle Kit on the RK, if anyone wants to do the Nacelle on a
Heritage, they can buy the RK Windshield, or try and trim their OEM.

When I added a windshield to my 2002, I opted for a set of Harley hardware that I found reasonable on eBay. And then I bought a compatible windshield from Long Ride Shields because I wanted a recurve.
I'm sure the same could be done for any year a person needed.

I did the same on my '03 Heritage...

I got a new LRS recurve replacement shield using my OEM hardware.
