Well guys that was a 600 dollar fiasco. Since no one in the aftermarket makes a new unit - I wound up paying about 300 bucks off Fallen Cycles on eBay. Dicey thing is that you could buy one the seller says works, get it, install and find out it doesn't. No sellers will take returns because who's to say you didn't take the broke one off, install the new one, and put the broken one in the box and return it. So, I had Ben at Ben's V-Twin install and marry the unit to the ECU and all is well in the world. Works perfectly fine.
In an abundance of caution I sold the 2011 with all its computers and fuel injection (and power!) and bought a 79 FLH. No computers to burn up. No fuel injection. Just a really dumb motor, a frame and some wheels. I've learned that I am not a smart man - but I know what I can and can't do. Thanks for all the help on this matter. The guy I sold the bike to is going to be really happy for the next 15 or so years!
