agree. Problem is UK roads and traffic. We don't have the long open roads like you do, a lot of the time we are just chugging along at 30 in suburban areas, trying not to creep over 30 and trigger the speed cameras, of which the UK has the most other than Dubai I think, and get a £100 fine and 30 point is on your licence. 4 of those and you are banned from driving for 12months! In Wales many of the roads now have 20mph limit! Can you imagine trying to chug along at 20? So, as i say we spend a lot of riding time at low speed.
Speed is not the issue; keep rpms at 2500 or above; might have to be in 2d gear.
At 20 mph you should have just shifted into 2nd gear at 30 mph, 3rd gear.. If you are in 4th or 5th you are definitely lugging the motor... As long as you keep the rpm's @2000 or above you'll been fine @1-3% tps.. also note that under 2000 rpm is pretty difficult to fine tune when lugging in 4th or 5th gear.. Sounds to me you are creating the problem with your low speed driving habits and it's not the Tune.. Changed your driving habits before you spend on a Dyno tune to see how it reacts..

hi, and thanks to everybody for the input. I k ow what you mean by lugging the motor, i have been riding Harleys for almost 30years. The problem isn't lugging the motor, it is hesitation/misfire. It happens at very light throttle opening. Once you get it up to about 40mph it starts to dissappear. If the bike is in neutral idling, if you statr to gently open the throttle, it starts running unevenly, misfiring/ hesitating. Even .y wife could detect it so it is quite obvious. I have checked for air leaks by spraying carb cleaner round the intake ports etc, but all seems ok. I feel sure it wasn't so bad when I first fitted the different throttle body, and it feels to have got worse. It was running the same with the original induction module, so I'm hoping that the dyno tune will sort it out and I will have smooth low speed running. As I also said, the 2010 fatboy that I have that is stock apart from stg 1 , runs very happily and smoothly at around 30mph in the higher gears, maybe not 6th.! I am pinning my hopes on the dyno tune.
Technically a stage 2 download is for cams, air cleaner and pipes.. I would imagine you need a stage 3 because you went with a big bore kit. And that might make all the difference it'll give you a little more fuel at low end and throughout the rest of the tune..

If i remember correctly it was a specific download for the 1550 big bore with SE 203 cams.

That download is not a tune; just adds a bit of fuel. What fuel management system will be used for the dyno tune? A proper dyno tune should solve the low speed stumble. Keep us posted.
