Default Leather Seats

Hi Guys.
Just purchased a new 2007 Deuce with the customary vinyl seat. The Deuce does not spend a lot of time exposed to the weather. Ride a couple of times a week and it is garaged when not in use.Thinking about a leather badlander seat as a replacement for looks and comfort but havent seen any comment so far on pros & cons of leather. I am not all that worried about the maintenance issue as I am reasonably fastidious anyway. Can anyone help.

I put a leather Badlander on my '06 Standard and after over 5,000 miles it looks just as good now asit did when I installed it...the downside is it's just as uncomfortable now as it was when I installed it...they DO break in a bit but I can only get about100 miles in before my *** is begging for mercy.

I've got a Corbin gunfighter in leather and love it........my *** never gets sore anymore, and I have no little ***............recently did 360 miles with only a couple short breaks, and my *** never got sore. It's a hard seat but very supportive, and the leather is very supple. I treat the leather every 3 or 4 weeks, and I've noticed over time that the "mercedes" grain has taken on a softer more natural look.

I've never heard "Badlander" and "comfortable" in the same sentence.

Try a Corbin (leather) or a Mustang Day Tripper (vinyl)

Corbin has several models for the Duece: http://www.corbin.com/harley/softail/st0menu.shtml

Mustang: http://www.mustangseats.com/deuce/76367app.html

Here is a Corbin Gunfighter onmy Fat Boy

That's the first thing that popped into my head when I read the post, too. I had one once; don't miss it.

mojojones, I too have recently bought a Corbin Gunfighter. Out of the box it feels very comfortable, regardless of their 1500-2000 mile break-in claim (FYI, I am 5' 9" and about 190 pounds). With this seat on my bike, 2006 FXSTDI, my riding position feels unchangedwith respect to the handlebars (maybe slightly lower). I admit I don't have a lot of miles on it yet (~200) but it is very comfortable and suits my size and body weight very well. If it gets any more comfortable I well just consider that gravy! Corbin sells two Gunfighters, one of which they call "close." Hence the name, the close model pushes you closer to the handlebars. If you get a Corbin, make sure you take note of this. Lots of seat choices out there, take your time and read up here on the forum, also look at pictures and see what style fits you and your bike. Lastly, Corbin has significantly dropped their prices via their website. My seat, which used to cost $499, ran me $394 to the front door.
