i am in the process of shopping for pipes. iwant my bike to look good and perform better. i hear that 2into1 systems perform better but i own a nighttrain and to me they would look funny on it.do 2into1 pipes make that big of a difference?how do they sound? what are the best pipes (performance, sound, looks, etc.)? are vance and hines good? how about thunderheader?any advice is appreciated.
Sound and looks opinions are gong to vary from person to person. Personally I think the best LOOKING set of pipes for a Softail are the Samson RipSaws. The new Big Gun 3's are now out, and available in the RipSaws. They have better heat shields, and baffles. I have no clue how they sound though.
I put the V and H big shots staggered on mine. And lemme tell ya...Sweet looking and LOUD. Sorry I don't have pics yet...cuz I just got her...but it's all about personal opinion mate. Cuz we're all biased when it comes to our own bikes. *grin*
I have a 2000 Night train which had a Thunderheader 2 into 1. I thought it looked likke a chrome outrigger. I got a set of V&H big Radius and had them turned black. Love the look, sound great, and didn,t notice any perforrmance change on my 95" stage 2. I'll try and include a picture. Ernie-Seattle
I had screamin Eagle on my 00 heritage classic and now have thunderheader. Sounds nice and mellow withn a deep throaty sound. Had to back off on the throttle when first put on. could really notice the change in power.
