I have a softail std. and quit often ride woth crotch rocket guys and never get left behind . last time I rode with a bunch they were amased a harley could be ridden that fast only problem was when we stopped my front brakes were smoking (literly) the front time will cause a problem when following agrove but will go over holes etc easier (ever seen a dirt bike with a big fat 16 on the front) should be a good bike for you, no it's not a crotch rocket but will go good straight or twistey, have fun and enjoy...
Danike - They are Cycle Shack MTO-129 Slip ons. I had them on My Street Bob and absolutely Love the soundso I put them on the Softail. I had no tuner or air cleaner and never ever had a pop etc. Sadly they are coming off next week and being replaced by Hooker Troublemakers.
I've put almost 5000 miles on my Heritage in Italy in the past 9 months. No handling issues. It's no sprt bike of course, but if you really want a Harley........you'll never be completely satisfied with anything else.

Hi flst06,
Reading your profile I see you live in Vicenza.
I hope you are spending a good time in here.
Thank for your advice
You will find that the bike handles very well for its size and weight. Just remember that it is a heavy cruiser. You will not be able to keep up with someone on, say, a Triumph Thruxton on a mountain road. But, with some practice, you will be able to stay close enough behind and gain enough in straight stretches to surprize him.
Came off a Heritage and I can tell you I can push the Custom through the twisties at one hell of a lot more spirited pace. The skinny front tire does track ruts more, but never found it to be that big of an issue.
The Custom can definitely do well in the twisties.
