Hot Foot
Think im leaning toward getting a Fatboy or Heritage Softail. Any Fatboy riders have problems with a hot passenger right foot since the peg is between the exhaust?? Wife's worried about getting a hot foot.. Dont really know how much heat is coming off those pipes, dont know of anybody here locally with a fatboy.
Isn't that why there is an extension on that side?
I wouldn't tell her in degrees how hot it gets, but I would tell her that it will melt a shoe (and subsequently her skin), if she comes into contact with it. In my experiences, it never hurt to have a little healthy respect for the motorcycle.

Bottom line, the pipes are hot! If your passenger is careful, and keep their foot on the peg they should be okay. However, be prepared to clean melted shoe/boot off of your pipes. I have found that chrome cleaner, very fine steel wool and patience works wonders when it comes to getting the pipes clean without damage.

Yea but what about my Idea [sm=dontgetit.gif] actually I do, Mac and the other's are telling the truth about getting it off, also S1000, you know the stuff that Harley sell's, they have a chrome soap sort of speak that work's great on taking mark's off, and you can also do what I suggested and maybe that want happen as much.

If she's a new passenger, you better show her how to get on and off properly. My experiance is most burns, shoes or skin, happen when she's coming off the bike, so make it very clear on the dangers of the pipes at the beginning, and in a week it will be second nature, never to come up again.
