If your already thinking about it then you have answered your own question. As for me, I would do it. But then I would have bought the softail in the first place. IMO, The sporster is the hook setter, which has happened to you! They are all great bikes, some are just better then others.
I went from a '04 Sporty to a '04 Heritage. Big difference between the two! For 2-up riding and or longer rides...the Heritage is much better comfort wise. You do gice up a little in the handling department...not enough to make riding any less fun, IMHO.
I wanted to keep my Sporty for short trips, solo riding...didn't work out. I'll be getting another some day!
