Is there a way to build some oil pressure in the engine after it has been sitting for the winter without starting the engine?
I dont want to crank it with the plug wires off as that will just fill the cylinders with fuel.
Remove the plugs and crank?

See my post www.hdforums.com/m_2759489/tm.htm for which I received few replies. I think this technique might work for us. I've the same concern as you do, dry upper end in the engine.
If your parinoid about it you "might" try a small bit of oil in the plug holes to lube the rings and cylinder walls. But overall trying to pre-pressurize the oil system isn't going to do much for you. Unlike normal car engines Harley's make heavy use of ball, roller, and needle bearings instead of babbit bearings. That being the case most parts of the engine can get along fine without the normaloil flow for the few seconds it takes to build pressure.
It only takes 2 or 3 kicks on my Evo to have oil pressure. I would assumeby the time an electric start fires up, you already have oil flow and pressure. If you are really anxious about it, pull the plugs and squirt a little oil in. Not necessary IMHO.
