Have my black front end on now...will be installing a black headlight trim ring and blacking out the mounting strip on the upper covers soon, but I am keeping the headlight bucket chrome.
So, do you think I should powdercoat the apes black or leave 'em chrome? I keep going back and forth on this one...if I change them to black, I;d leave the chrome controls/mirrors for some contrast.
Big Mike:
Black? Who would do such a thing!!!!
I think ,like most said, that you need to black out the struts and the bars. Do the headlight bucket too and leave the headlight trim chrome. Also, I would leave the controls chrome.

"Honey do list" to black out:
struts
dash panel
possibly the license plate holder
head light (and other light "fixtures" including the trim around the rear brake light) but leave the trim rings chrome (the contrast is awesome!!)
oh ya, and DEFINITELY the apes!
I'm all chrome (apart from my engine guard gloss black powdercoated) but really like the contrast chrome has w/ black powder coat. The other deluxe in the garage is all blacked out (CNC Wheel Guy).
Thanks for all the feedback - definitely gives me some food for thought...will be changing the bars to black and then will decide on the next move. I've had my eye on some fat daddy wheels with the black spokes and chrome nipples...we'll see where it ends up...
