I have the braided lever grips from Ironbraid.com. This past summer I somebody run over my bike (fortunately not on it) and they had to be replaced. The dealer that did the repairs dorked up and put the wrong braided grips back on - the ones with the tassles. Instead of waiting an extra two weeks to get the bike back, I said "what the heck, I'll try 'em out and see if I like them - will cut 'em off if I don't." After about a 15 minute introductory session of S & M by getting my forearms whipped going 70mph, I pulled over and cut them off. Not into the pain, or the girly look thing...

I tried to get my girlfriend to wear them but she chose nothing at all.
Tassels are supposed to be for safety as they make the other drivers notice the movement.
That is true on motorcycles too.

The only thing I've seen tassels look good on was Madona in the '80's. lol. Do yourself a favor and back away from the tassels.

I would say yes if you had a 8 year old daughter that could ride it. No offence but my 8 year old doesn't even want them on her push bike any more. But if it blows your hair back then do it!!

6% for tassels so far. That is why I like tassels. Who cares what the majority thinks. I want to be different. Give me tassels!!! If you don't like tassels, check out "Iron Braid", they will custom braid your levers, and thier tassels kick ***!!!
