You'll probably get 100 different answers on this one. I mean that sincerely. We all have our own opinion. The Springer is nice but a pain to polish the front end IMO. But the '07 has newer goodies, 96CI motor and six speed. Don't let money make your decision unless money needs to be considered. Go with your heart. What you want to ride and which bike excites you. The worst thing you can do is make a financial choice only. Then you find yourself wishing later.
Its up to you, what do YOU want?
But if your asking for opinions, and remember opinions are like butt holes. Everyone has one and the all stink.
Then "MY" opinion is keep the bike you have. If your dying for a springer, start saving your penniesand get a springer front end for the bike you have. There's a lot of different ones out there that look as good and some look and work better than the factory offering.

This answer makes the most sense. Your engine and trans are better.
do the trade and take the 2 grand to buy a hydra glide front end for the springer and make it look like a custom. just kiddin dude, get what you want. those 04's are nice, the 88 will keep up just fine.
Stick with the Custom. It has more ***** and the 6 speed trans. I would definately ride it before you do anything. I always loved the Springers but bought a Deuce, so go figure. Just sat on a Crossbones today and that is a nice feeling bike. Good Luck
