If you don't have some already, you should pick up a 3/8" drive set of both allen wrenches and male and female torx sockets. NAPA has sets - probably cheaper than HD tools. You will need a 7/8" (or 22 mm) combination wrench to take out the O2 sensors and reinstall in your new pipes. You will have to locate the sensor plugs - front one is easy as it is under a little plastic cover on the bottom of the front frame (near oil filter area), rear cylinder plug is under the battery box. On my Deluxe, the wire was held up to the bottom of the battery box with a plastic wire loom. If you remove the battery, you can push in the "tangs" of the little wire holder and remove it out the bottom and the wire from its nesting place below the battery box. This gives you a little extra length so that you can see and disconnect the plug. The O2 sensor wire will actually slide off of the keeper, but you can't see that until you have it off the bottom of the battery box. Depending on pipes being installed, you are more than likely going to have to remove/reinstall footpegs and such. Not a hard job. V & H pipes are well made and fit right. Read their directions carefully and follow them and you shouldn't have any trouble. You should pick up a new set of exhaust gaskets from your dealer before you start. My buddy told me to get SE gaskets. The tech at the dealership said that they have had better luck with the stock gaskets on V & H pipes. You'll need at least screwdrivers, 5/16" nutdriver 7/16, 1/2, & 9/16 wrenches and 3/8 drive sockets, ratchet, extensions, 3/16 and 5/16 allen wrench sockets, and T45 and 50 torx sockets. You will reuse your exhaust flanges and circlips from your stack pipes. Wipe everything down real well with glass cleaner and a soft cotton rage before firing it up.

rsavage, I am also going to be installing v&h pipes on my deluxe, probably the longshots. I noticed the right passenger peg seems to be part or atleast mounted to the stock exhaust bracket. its a 07, what do you do about this when you remove the stock bracket?

I'm not sure about pegs. I had to find two rightside HD brackets to remount my footboards. There are holes in the frame that match each side. Take a look at how your left side is mounted and duplicate it with a mirror image on the right. If your right side peg is mounted to the stock exhaust bracket which will be removed, you will have to do something different. It will probably be simpler with just rear pegs. There are lots of guys here who have put the same pipes on that you are going to - I'm sure they will have some sound advice.
