I have been considering a detachable fairing for my 2001 Heritage. Now I can actually see what it looks like and I like it. Keep it on there, it looks good! Just paint it to match the rest of the tins. If you do decide to get rid of it I would also be interested.
Thanks guys for the feedback, I guess Iâm just having a little buyers remorse. This is the 7th and best Harley Iâve owned in 20 years. My first Harley was a green sporty and I caught a lot of grief about that color so all my other Harleyâs have been red, black or silver. I just got such a good deal on this bike I couldnât pass it up. Iâm glad to finally see someone else with this color, Iâve spent the last week trying to find out information on this color and fretting about what to do. With the feed back Iâve gotten I think Iâll just enjoy the bike while I look for a stock windshield and use the fairing for road trips and hopefully sometime this summer come up with a paint scheme for the fairing that will better compliment the bike.
I like the colors. I would have the fairing painted to match though. There is a new '08 all purple Fatboy at my local dealer and I like it alot. It's just a purple thing I have. I would however, get a stock windshield for it to if it were mine.
I agree ,,.It needs something to break it up...Looks kinda outa place with all one color..The bike is sweet itself but the faring makes it look hurried up to get done.Yeah ,,do someting with it.
Why didn't he paint the fairing red instead of purple? It would look great if it matched the tins in red. Not that it looks bad now, but you might want to ask him how much to just do it all in red to match.
This is the best scheme I've found so far, paint the top of the fairing the same color as the side of the tank and fenders using the same stipe on the tank and fenders. What do ya think?
I agree with harleyman1341
This paint scheme would look great.
and it would look like "a set" instead of an "add on".
and your stock bags look fine with the Bat Wing.
if you put it on for long trips, invest in a black leather cover for it. or you could paint Barney's face on it. That may be worth a laugh in someone's rear view....
