There are a few people on this forum that have switched to mini-apes and they have commented on how much more comfy that they were compared to the stock bars. I have mini apes on my Springer. If you want to look at them, I have a pic of them in the Springer section of this section. I am 6' and they were worth the money to me. When I had the stock bars on, my neck and shoulders would bother me a little after a long run, now they don't. I have always liked the looks of apes on a Harley and now I know that they are also comfortable as well. Good luck.

I can't remember for sure without measuring them, but I think that they are about 10-11" higher than stock.

Just some thoughts on handlebars ……………

The 2006 book shows these specs:

Chrome FatBoy Bar #55958-01
tip to tip = 31.50"
base width = 13.50"
rise = 5.50"
pull back = 9.00"
MSRP $49.95

Chrome Heritage Classic Bar #56623-99
tip to tip = 31.25"
base width = 11.50"
rise = 8.50"
pull back = 5.00"
MSRP $49.95

Mini Ape Bar #56832-04
tip to tip = 33.75"
base width = 10.00"
rise = 10.50"
pull back = 7.25"
MSRP $199.00

The mini apes are factory drilled for internal wiring, the Heritage bar is not.
The mini apes require riser kit #56851-04, I don't know about the Heritage.

You would need to check cables, wiring extensions etc for proper type/fit.

Just some thoughts ..................

I put a pair of stock mini-apes off a an 02 Wide Glide on my Night Train, and I absolutely LOVE them! I am about 5'9, and the bars, along with my seat and the stock forward controls, put me in the ideal riding position. Plus, they look great too!

Cheers!

put them on my softail standard and i love them! much better than the stock buckhorn.the new wideglides have the same bars stock for 06,not sure how the geometry matches up but thats an easy way to see how they feel.

Did you ever put the mini apes on? I have a 2003 fatboy and am torn on whether to put the mini apes on. I am 6 ft and want my arms in a more comfortable position.

I'm 5.11 and have 12.5" mini apes. Had them on for a few years now and like them alot. If your over 6 you may want something taller like 14" or 15". Anyway I wouldn't be without. Hope this helps.
