Default Can anyone answer this?

I have a badlander seat for my softail. It came with a grab strap which i see some people bolt it on to the fender strut, then i see in some photos where they have the strap mounted underneath the seat. I like the look of it tucked under the seat. My question is where under the seat do you mount the bolt that comes with it? Do you bolt it under the seat on the fender somehow?

My Softail Deuce has a strap that bolts onto one of the bolts that securethe ECMon the rear fender. It is a pain to remove the seat because you have to work the seat from the strap. I removed it completely as I doubt anyone will ride on the back and if they do, I will have them hang onto my fat tummy instead of that strap.

Same here, its a bolt on the rear fender. Got rid of it few years ago, I only found it good for stuffing a towel or hat under it......

Pretty useless IMO and it looks way better without it but like everyone said just use the bolt on the rear fender if you want to keep it.

I did however notice that the bolt was too long to reinstall without putting some extra washers to compensate for the width of the strap. Otherwise the bolt is tight but the ECM is not. It rattles.

So either put in a shorter bolt or add washers.

Just my opionion......take your seat off, un-bolt the strap, put the bolt and washer in your "spare bolts bin" and throw the strap away.
