Rockers
I saw my first Rocker at Earl Smalls H-D in Marietta, GA this past Saturday. My expectations were low - just from comments on this site and various pictures I had seen. However - my overall impression - I LOVED IT! They had added some black Samson pipes and a few other extras. I didn't have the heart to ask how much they wanted. I am jealous of you Rocker owners, but I can't complain too much with an 07 Fat Boy to play with.
The dealers seem to have different philosophies about selling bikes. They know bike purchases are driven by emotion more than car sales. Theyalso want us to believe thatMSRP is a god given right. I went to 3 dealers and only onewas willing to negotiate. I bought mine from Hal's HD in Milwaukee for $500 under MSRP and 20% off all accessories. The saleman, Tom Bradford, was straight up throughout the deal. Still comes up and greets me whenever I come in the store. Good people all.
jvitas,
What type of HD bike did you recently buy? Was it a new-for-2008 rocker?
I believe that alot of the "not lower than MSRP" HD dealer mentality is a result of supply/demand imbalance created by the novelty (newness) of the rockers.
