i ordered my rocker cin sept 07 and took delivery mid jan 08.and paid msrp, the dealers in my area are getting 1000.00 dollars or more than msrp for the bikes and they all have a waiting list for them.
Every post in this thread, minus one, indicates that the rockers & rocker-Cs are going for MSRP or higher all over the country.
As of last week, I talked to three HD dealers (central Oklahoma, SW Oklahoma, & N. Texas) and found MSRP or higher with a waiting list of at least 30 days from deposit to delivery. I was told by two of the dealers that supply is very tight and that some dealers in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX area are getting $2,000 to $5000 over MSRP!!!
I did not order from my local dealer in SW Oklahoma, I ordered mine from the dealer in N. Texas - Red River Harley for MSRP with 1st/1000 service thrown-in. Red River was honest about availabilityand wants"only" MSRP.
For anyone wanting a rocker - be patient and good luck - only 40 more days or so until mine is ready for pick-up.
I got mine at RRHD as well. Check out their website and you will see my good looking mug on their website. I got their first one, and had it on order since they were announced last July[:-]
Keith Cash wasy my salesperson. I also do most of my service on my other bikes up there, as they do a great job. Worth the 120 mile drive...
I ordered mine in July 07 and got it on Jan 22, 08. Paid MSRP for it. The dealer is supposed to get another Rocker this month, already sold. Love mine, worth the wait!
The reason there are so few Rockers and Rocker c's around is that H-D was having some problems with one of their suppliers early on, those issues have been resolved. The 2008 model year will still be short in supply due to the production delays early on and the amount of back orders due to pre-orders for the bikes. Within a few months the supply should catch back up to demands. A word of advice, be patient and don't give in to ridiculous dealer mark-up, a thousand dollars over MSRP is one thing, any more is just taking advantage of the customer and that is not the way to start a relationship with you, the customer.
i ordered my rocker c on august 17th from Toys for Big Boys in Moncton,NB. at that timewe agreed on a delivered price and i gave the dealer a very good deposit on the bike.the bike arrived the middle of February.i went to the dealers to check the bike out it look some sweet.i asked about having them put on aset of V&H BigRadius 2 into 1 exhaust.they said if they installed the exhaust that they would warantee the exhaust.i asked for my invoice the bike was $700.00 less that the agreed upon price of August (not including the exhaust)plus i do not have to pay the balance of the the bike until i pick it up in April.i plan on riding it home so that is probably near the end of the month.does he have a happy customer you bet.
Yep, RRHD is where I plan to be at the end of April toinspect &pickup the bike.
Discussed my first planned real ride/adventure with some co-workers today. The Republic of Texas Ralley in Austin. I believea few of themare headed down there on Jun 11ththru the weekend. Between the beginning of May and end of May I will have to take my wife on a few hour-plus rides to see if the stock passenger seat is gonna work for the 5-6 hr. ride. If not, seriously considering putting the Rider's Essentials kit on the bike ~ 1st week in June and retesting with the wife before heading towards Austin. Will report findings when I get back in mid-June. May install & de-install the kit as needed but may leave the luggage rack on the bike permenantly, depending on how it looks installed. Only found one pic installed at the Japanese HD site.
